ercian's animal feed business began in 1957 as a result of efforts to find uses for by-products of alcoholic beverage production. Since then, we have expanded our operations in this category to include general compound, livestock and fish feeds, and nutritive preparations. In the area of livestock feed, we were among the first to develop technology that enabled the production and commercialization of special compound feeds containing fermented alcohol additives. We have also reinforced our basic technological capabilities with such products as Rinkaru Pellet, a patented mineral preparation encased in seaweed pellets, and Stand-Up CA, a liquid calcium preparation that is effective in treating a condition that prevents postnatal dairy cows from standing. Demand for fish feeds has been expanding in step with the growth of fish farming. We manufacture and market moist pellet and extruded pellet (EP) fish feeds and recently we introduced the innovative Soft EP, the world's first high-moisture-content fish feed, which we have patented.
